Careful with the …
Careful with the ace in larger breeds, It can kill a large breed dog. My vet won’t use ace for my chow chow.

I adopted an older …
I adopted an older westie-maltese or maybe bichon mix. He won’t bite anyone but squirms, lies on his back when I take him to the groomer. I don’t think this dog was groomed by his original owner. He shakes like an Aspen tree I give him a bath and shave him twice a year myself.
The videos are a great help for me to learn the tricks of grooming.

Im a groomer too, …
I had a westie like that today, the little git! I have a very small mussel for the little ones, then i thread the neck chain through the strap so it cant tear the mussel off. If i have difficulty getting the mussel on I grab the back of the dogs head so it cant bite me. My dogs soon learn and they always get better if they come regularly enough coz they realise its not really so bad
Im a groomer too, thought this video was quite amusing

Her excuse not to …
Her excuse not to sadate this dog was because she didnt want to pay for testing to make sure his little body can handle the drugs. The vets wouldnt even touch him. When its unsafe for your own children to be around this dog whats the fricken point. Its unaceptable For ANY dog to Bite ANYONE or what ever reason.. WHy is it okay for a small dog but not okay for a big dog? Double standard… LOL

In your perfect …
In your perfect world that is true. I treat ALL my dogs with respect when they come in.. But the first time I did this dog, I did as I always did. I understood he was mistreated by others and respected his fears. Then when the groom was almost done he chomped on my hand unprovocked.. I am not a STUPID Groomer.. I hate dealing with stupid owners who LET there dog be this nasty. Even her own children cant touch this dog.. Get educated before you become opinonated…

how can a groomer …
how can a groomer not read dog body language – that dog is stressed from the moment it enters there and you make it worst because you’re scared stiff – also how could a ‘professional’ grab a dog by the tail to put a bucket collar on do you want to damage it?!?!
You know how you convince the dog to improve – give it to a proper groomer who will help the dog get over its fear not make it worst. You are a dogs worst nightmare – the dogs fine.

you obviously dont know dogs, she is handling the dog in the safest manner possible, and im glad she is doing the dog and not someone with no experience, that could get badly bitten. im sure the dog is some what use to her, and he would be much worse with a differnt groomer. this breed is not the best breed to groom.

My Lhasa is an …
My Lhasa is an angel for my groomer. I make sure he is walked and nice and tired before she comes to groom him. Perhaps you could suggest to that client to walk his off before she drops him off? They also tend to have back pain, or knee pain (luxating patella’s) so when you are pulling on his knee it probably hurts. I think the Lhasa Apso is the best breed and I am glad that you showed another Lhasa on here behaving like a sweetheart, because most of them do.

i cant even take my lhasa apso to the groomer, he always bites somebody or behaves terribly and its quite embarassing!!! when we are on the street if somebody considers him cute and comes to touch him he gets violent i have to keep him away even from kids ohh what a nightmare!!! but he’s a good boy at home AT LEAST!!! my husband and i are thinking about getting him profesionally trained! cause he’s too much

they didnt hurt his neck, he probably hurt his own neck by jerkinn around and wouldnt let the groomer do their job, its not always the groomers fault.

My lhasa is also …
My lhasa is also terrible, but I think he was from a puppy mill, plus we got him at a year and a half, and his previous owners didn’t do a very good job socializing him. And when we first got him we took him to Petsmart to be groomed and they hurt his neck, it was sore for like a week. So now we drug him when we take him to our groomers, I feel bad cause he’s all tripped out, but it’s really better for everyone.

Difference? Good …
Difference? Good breeding and puppy mill/ backyard breeding. That one lhasa with the turned out feet, bad teeth and bad coat… was obviously the latter. Bad bad BAD breeding. *shivers* It’s disturbing to see it, I grooming a nasty lhasa the other day, PELTED. I had to shave him down with a #10, #15 in some places! And when I groomed his front legs (like yours) he bit the CRAP out of me! I gasped, and instantly e collared him. I WAS however, able to shave his badly pelted face. He snapped tho.

It kills me when …
It kills me when someone says ” My dog wont LET me” Wont let you?? You ARE the boss. The biggest mistake owners make is that when they fight ans show teeth, the ownner stops what theyre doing and lets the dog win. The dog inturn learns that when he acts like an or screams, he gets what he wants. Im a groomer and I have tons of dogs that I do that are from other shops that WONT groom them anymore. That is how I know for a fact that its not the dog, its the person handling them.

the dog at the end …
the dog at the end must have had a very scary grooming experience when he was a small puppy to make him like that, some owners do not take the time to properly socialise thier dogs as puppies and we end up with some very fear agressive dogs. my older dog will not let me comb out his back legs at all, he is a austrialian shepherd mix we got from the spca. when the spca took him in he was full of mats and grooming must have really hurt. he still remembers it iam sure, lol
